The exposition of the paper sculptures in the abbey church of Saint Riquier, close to Abbeyville, Somme, Northern France. The occasion for the exhibition of more than a 100 paper sculptures, is the 25th festival of classical music held in this church this summer.
The shapes seen in the image are about the size of a thumbnail. They are created by mixing ferrofluid with water color and putting it into a magnetic field. When put under a magnetic field iron particles in the ferrofluid solution start to rearrange, forming the black channels and separating the water colors from the ferrofluid.
Italian installation artist Esther Stocker creates stunning geometric environments that can often be explored by the viewer. The construction of each piece appears to follow some type of strange equation, resulting in unusual linear patterns and planes that completely transform the physical pace.
